Ian Slater

Project Lead / Quality Manager /Aircraft Maintenance Engineer “S”

Ian apprenticed as a Millwright/Machinist/Industrial Mechanic prior to joining the Canadian Air Force in 1997 as an Aircraft Structures Technician. He is a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer “S” (Structures) with experience in both civilian and military structures overhaul, repair and restoration. Ian has experience on 16 fixed and rotary wing aircraft types. During his service with the Canadian Air Force, Ian served with many units throughout Canada and the Middle East including 438 and 440 Squadrons, two of the three Canadian Wartime Typhoon units. Ian has been working towards the goal of an airworthy Typhoon since 1991.

Bruce R.N. Slater

Mechanical Designer

Bruce has 40 years Product Design & Development work history; primarily in the Marine and Tension Fabric Structure industries. Bruce received formal drafting training ‘on the board’, changing to computer drafting in the early 90s. The result is more than 30 years of 3D computer modeling experience with extensive materials and manufacturing process knowledge.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (NZCAA)

Graham has been working in aerospace for 24 years. Initially Graham joined the RNZAF in 1991 as a helicopter mechanic, after completing 8 years of service he continued work as an Aircraft Maintenance engineer in the civilian sector with some of the largest rotary wing operators in the world. Graham left New Zealand when he was 29, and has worked in 42 different countries in his career. During this time he worked not only on rotary wing aircraft, but also spent 2 years with the Subritsky Collection in New Zealand, working on Spitfire Mk. XVIe TE330 and Gloster Meteor NF.11 WD767.

Retired Aeronautical Engineer

Martin has spent nearly 50 years in the Aerospace Industry starting as an Engineering Apprentice at Armstrong Whitworth in Coventry, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 and worked on a variety of projects in many disciplines including manufacturing, engineering mock-ups, production support, value and design engineering.
Projects included Douglas DC 10 Wing in Malton, Ontario; Saunders Aircraft ST-27 Regional Aircraft in Gimli, Manitoba; Canadair Challenger and Bombardier Regional Jet, Montreal, Quebec; Lavi Multirole Fighter, Israeli Aircraft Industries, Tel Aviv; IPTN N250 Regional Commuter Turboprop, Bandung, Indonesia; Boeing 747, 767, 777, 787 and SFAR88 Fuel Systems Safety Analysis, Everett, Washington. Was also briefly involved in the Comox Spitfire Project providing reverse engineering support until it was taken over by Vintage Wings and eventually moved to Ottawa.

Brad Hodson

Brad Hodson is a British-Canadian cinematographer based in Vancouver with over 30 years’ experience in the Motion Picture and Broadcast Television industries. In addition to working under acclaimed directors such as Terry Gilliam, Kathryn Bigelow, and Steven Spielberg, Brad has operated camera for the NHL, FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. A sitting Executive Board member of the International Cinematographer’s Guild Local 669, Brad specializes in Steadicam and Robotic Camera Systems and was instrumental in bringing some of the first Robotic cameras to the Western Canadian Film Industry. In addition to his years of filmmaking experience, Brad has a love of history. From exploring the roots of international sea travel to restoring one of the last heritage properties in Vancouver, Brad is always eager to find new ways to bring the past to life.

Dustin Guertin

Dustin became interested in computers from the early age of 8 and has had an interest in them ever since. He taught himself how to build and use computers from scratch and has been doing so ever since. Dustin spends most of his time riding bikes and drinking coffee.

Timothy J.C Johnson

Timothy J.C Johnson is a Canadian writer and filmmaker hailing from King’s County, Nova Scotia. After penning his first short documentaries in 2009, while completing his degree in History from the University of King’s College, Timothy was inspired to pursue a career in the Film Industry. After graduating from the Vancouver Film School, Timothy began working as a writer and film technician in British Columbia. Fascinated by conflict impacts culture and technology throughout history, Timothy has combined this passion with to his career to write Historical non-fiction and Sci-Fi inspired by the past. Timothy is the creator and head writer of the documentary series Nations At War, and has over a decade of experience as a script editor, development writer, and art director in both Vancouver and Toronto. Outside of film, Timothy has worked as a blogger, music journalist, and historical advisor to both multimedia projects and live events.
